The theme of Devil Inside is loosely based on the 1987 sci-fi thriller movie starring Arnie Schwarzenegger, "The Running Man". Originally adapted from a Stephen King novel, the film takes place in the crazy, futuristic world of an American cable TV game show, where a convict, framed on a murder charge, participates in a TV game show and is hunted down throughout Los Angeles by a pack of expert killers. In Devil Inside, you control Dave Cooper, a former cop turned journalist, who now carries out his investigations for the local TV channel specialising in the weird and bizarre. Cooper is no ordinary person. He has a strange and unusual power. He commands the ability to change into his delectable female double Deva; a leather-clad devil with uncanny supernatural powers. On the evening of Halloween, Cooper and his production team sneak into a house that was the site of some shocking murders for a special edition of the show. He soon realises that the house is haunted with a strange and powerful evil presence and his only escape will be to solve the secret behind the crimes and lay to rest the evil spirits once and for all. Meanwhile, back at the studio, the host of the show, Jack T. Ripper, begins live coverage to a captive audience. This evening will be the highest rating show ever. But will it be the last? Dave and Deva, have a variety of weapons and psychic powers, suited to different situations. This game is slated to be released in the UK May 26, 2000. No word yet on a North American release, but that should follow shortly after.
